day Historical Route and Tigray Rock Churches
Day 1- Arrive in Addis Ababa and transfer to the hotel. O/n at hotel.
Day 2- Drive to Kombolcha, and possibly, Sembete market.
Day 3- Drive to Woldya, and possibly, Bati market (or Heyk Estifanos monastery).
Day 4- Drive to Lalibela.
Day 5 - Spend the day in Lalibela, visiting the rock hewn churches there.
Day 6- Drive to Mekele via Sekota or Woldya.
Day 7 - Visit the Tigray churches, which include Abreha we Alsbeha, Dugum Sellasie and Wikro Cherkos. O/n in Mekele.
Day 8 - Visit other churches, such as Michael Imba, Michael Debre Selam and Michael Barka. O/n in Mekele.
Day 9 - Drive via Debre Damo monastery and Yeha temple to Axum. O/n in Axum.
Day 10 - Full day in Axum.
Day 11- Drive to Gondar, crossing the scenic Semien Mountains. O/n in Gondar.
Day 12- Morning visit of Gondar; in the afternoon, drive to Bahir Dar. O/n BJR.
Day 13- Full day boat trip on Lake Tana (for 2-3 hrs). Visit various monasteries on its islands, including Urakidane Mehret, Mahal zeghie Gyorgis Asua Mariam and Narga Sellasie. O/n BJR

Day 14- In the morning, visit the Blue Nile falls, then drive to Debre Markos.
Day 15- Visit the Blue Nile gorge and Debre Libanos monastery on your way to Addis Ababa.
Day 16- Departure.
